About me

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Bristol.

You can see me either at my practice room in Clifton or on Zoom.

If you have any questions or would like to book a free consultation please email me.

Please read on to find out more about me and my approach.

My Approach

I believe we all have the potential to live fulfilling, satisfying lives in connection with others and that even our most difficult experiences can still have meaning. I seek to create a warm, trusting relationship with you that gives you space to explore and better understand yourself. For me, therapy is “the attempt to meet the depth of our wounds with an even greater depth of tenderness” (Dr Rick Hansen).

There are a great variety of experiences available to us and I try to reflect and celebrate this in my practice. My role is to get to know and understand you as an individual. In my training and my own therapy, I have thought a lot about my background and personal characteristics and how these shape my identity and my responses to others. I welcome people from all backgrounds, cultures, ages, genders and sexual orientations - and people who may be exploring their identity. I am gay and have a particular interest in working with the LGBTQ+ community.

I am an integrative relational psychotherapist. This means I draw from multiple different approaches to best meet you with what you feel you need. An important principle is that our work together is a collaboration and always led by you. However, I will offer prompts, questions, reflections and challenges where appropriate. This will be with the aim of supporting you to explore yourself and what you are bringing to the session and to help you find the answers and approaches which work best for you.
