About me
If you are struggling with life at the moment, let's get together to understand what it is that is causing this and find new ways of coping. Let's figure out what keeps you in unhelpful cycles, whether it be behaviour, relationships or a constant feeling of anxiety. It is always amazing when the people I work with experience a life they didn't think was possible, this is what's beautiful about therapy. I have 6 years experience of working with a range of mental health presentations and continue to study what I feel is the best investment, yourself.
Testimonials
"Jody didn't just help me understand the pain; she helped me reclaim my self-worth from the ground up. Through the therapeutic work, she showed me how to speak kindly to that scared little part of myself, how to hold him with the compassion I'd never received. She helped me see that the fears weren't proof of my unworthiness, they were evidence of how much I'd been hurt, and how desperately I'd needed safety and belonging. Slowly, painfully, powerfully, I started to believe I deserved those things. I started to feel, in my bones, that my existence matters, that I bring something irreplaceable to the people I love, that I'm not just tolerated, I'm cherished.
Thank you, Jody, from the deepest, most grateful part of my heart. You've given me back myself."
What is counselling?
Counselling is a talking or creative therapy that involves a trained therapist supporting you in finding ways to deal with emotional issues.
Accessing counselling can feel strange and scary, but it is certainly the first step to accepting change, which is actually very brave. I am a down to earth person with a warm accepting nature. I hope to provide a safe space for you to come and explore your issues with no judgment, a space where you can be fully yourself without the pressures of those around you. In providing this space, I believe a you can fully grow, learn and work towards a more confident, fulfilled you.
My promise
I will listen and I will hear you. I will support you in learning about yourself and your experiences. In todays fast paced world, it is rare we have the opportunity to feel heard, truly heard and understood, in amongst the pressures of life. I often hear the words, "Others have it worse" as a way of not allowing self to be impacted by the issues that hurt, because of other suffering in the world, let me say now that YOU MATTER, your issues and feelings are every single bit as important as everyone else's and I will support you with them.
Talking to someone and untangling thoughts and feelings can be a wonderful way of relieving tension, stress and anxiety so that we can clearly see the path towards solution.
If you think you might like to work together, please feel free to contact me for a free initial telephone call to talk about what you need.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
