About me
I'm Joanne and would like to share with you my journey to becoming a counsellor. At 18 I skipped off to university to study Early Childhood. I wanted to be a counsellor then, but life happened and somehow that goal was put on pause. I ended up working in the education system for 4 years as a primary school teacher. I left this role to become a mum of two daughters. Once they were settled into school I decided to loop back round to the original plan. I retrained as a counsellor, rebuilt my world with a healthy work-life balance (it is possible!) and rolled all of my training and experience into one creative, client-led approach to counselling.
I have been on my own therapeutic journey and understand how it feels to be on the other side. No matter what brings a person to therapy, know that we are in it together. From the very first session you are not alone.
What do I offer?
At Quartz Counselling I provide counselling that puts the client at the centre of our work. I work closely with adults and children to help them overcome trauma, develop coping strategies, and embrace their authentic selves.
Through a personalised approach, I aim to empower individuals to thrive and reach their full potential. My sessions provide a safe space free of judgement, that is deeply unique to each person and their needs.
All my counselling relationships will begin with an initial consultation. This is a 30 minute session where we can get to know each other and explore what you can expect from our work together.
Following this, if you decide I'm the right therapist for you then we can begin sessions. The best journeys in therapy happen when a relational depth it formed. Something I pride myself on developing with clients.
Initial enquiries for sessions for children should be made by parents/guardians.
I offer hourly and day rates for schools.
