About me
I have supported individuals experiencing mental health difficulties for over 20 years across the lifespan, working within a range of settings including the National Health Service (NHS), independent practice and charitable organisations, including Beat, the UK’s eating disorder charity. I have worked within the NHS for the past 19 years.
I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2011, gaining my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (ClinPsyD) from the University of Leeds. Since qualifying, I have developed extensive experience in psychological assessment, therapy, supervision, consultation and training across a range of specialist services.
My passion throughout my career has been supporting children, young people, and families experiencing psychological distress and complex mental health difficulties.
I have specialist experience working with looked after and adopted children, young people living with chronic health conditions, eating disorders, and those with neurodivergent and learning needs.
I have a particular interest in attachment, trauma, identity, shame, child and family dynamics, and supporting individuals and families to make sense of and find meaning in their experiences and diagnoses.
I work integratively, drawing on approaches including Systemic Family Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy. I value the importance of adapting these approaches collaboratively and flexibly to meet the strengths, needs, and values of each individual and family.

Wellbeing
I am an HPCP-registered Principal Clinical Psychologist and a proud mum of seven boys, and it is a privilege to do the work that I do.
I understand that every family is unique and brings individual strengths, challenges and demands. It is very important that this is understood, valued and integrated into the work we do, and all support offered is tailored to your exact needs.
I work to ensure that therapy is a safe place where you can open up without fear of judgement and where your contributions are valued. I use a range of evidence-based therapies and psychological research to help you better understand the difficulties you might be facing and support you to make positive, proactive change.
I meet all the standards of proficiency to be fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Psychologist. Ref: PYL27074
