About me
Thinking about starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I understand how important it is to find the right support. I see therapy as a collaboration, where we work together to explore whatever is on your mind. Perhaps you're struggling with your mental health, or trying to manage anxiety or depression. Maybe family issues, relationships or work challenges are on your mind, or maybe you are simply looking to understand yourself better. Whatever it is, I can help support you through the process, offering a warm, non-judgmental space.
In our first session, we would talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping to get from it. You might not know quite where to start, but I can offer a space where you can talk at your own pace, and we can work together to make sense of what comes up.
I am an integrative counsellor, which means I bring together different approaches to suit your needs, and adapt my way of working based on what feels right for you. This might involve exploring past experiences and noticing what they mean to you, identifying patterns you might not be aware of and understanding how they may be affecting you, or developing strategies to help with anxiety or depression.
One approach I often incorporate is body psychotherapy, which recognises how closely our mind and body are connected. When we experience stress or trauma, it can show up in the body as tension or physical discomfort. In our sessions, we may therefore gently combine body awareness (what you might be feeling physically) with talking to help uncover and release these patterns, to help bring a deeper understanding of emotions.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
