About me
Hi, I'm Jo, an integrative psychotherapist working north of Nottingham from my home office and online.
You might be here because of a life event, or perhaps you're experiencing a sense of unease that’s hard to explain. You may even find yourself minimising your experience or doubting whether it’s “enough” to seek help. That’s okay.
You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong to begin therapy. I offer a space where we can explore what’s happening for you; together, at a pace that feels right.
What to expect
As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to support our work. I believe that we are all primed for growth given supportive conditions. At the heart of my practice is the fundamental human need for relationship and how our relationships shape our development and experience of the world throughout our lives.
While we’ll focus on your present-day experiences, our work is likely to explore how your past influences what’s happening now. Therapy with me is always collaborative, with your experience at the centre.
Finding the right therapist can feel daunting. To help with this, I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation so we can talk about what’s bringing you to therapy and how we might work together.
If you decide to proceed, we’ll arrange sessions either face-to-face (location: NG17) or online, depending on your preference.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of Special Interest
Trauma and abuse - I volunteered at a charity for survivors of sexual abuse, supporting clients to find a sense of stability, to recognise the ongoing symptoms of trauma, to gently uncover and acknowledge the impact their childhood trauma had on their lives and begin to reclaim themselves. I have an ongoing interest in supporting people in this way.
Childlessness - I performed detailed research on the experience of not having had children, either by choice or circumstance. I have an ongoing interest in this experience and in supporting people navigating it.
General emotional wellbeing - I have a particular interest in the childhood experience of emotional neglect and supporting clients uncover and work with the lasting impact.
