About me

I am a solution-focused counsellor who my clients describe as "exceptionally easy to talk to, highly professional, and caring". I pride myself in being person-centred, meaning that I put YOU at the heart of my work. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you will feel truly heard and able to explore what matters to you. This will help you understand your issues, build acceptance and strategies, and become the very best version of yourself.

Over the years I have helped over 100 young and old adults overcome anxiety, sadness and depression, low self-esteem, grief, anger, trauma, life direction and relationship problems.  I see my clients either online or face-to-face at my private counselling room in Stanmore, north London, and I would love to try to help you to feel better about whatever challenges you are personally facing.

I appreciate that many clients have busy lives and are unable to commit upfront to regular or even multiple sessions. So I am flexible about when and how often we meet.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) with a Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling, for which I studied for 4 years. I also hold a BA(Hons) degree and have many years of experience as a professional communicator.

My training includes all the main Psychodynamic and Person-Centred/Humanistic theories and CBT. I also incorporate a lot of psycho-education and creative thinking in my practice, to help my clients truly understand and help themselves going forward.

I have worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds and love meeting and building relationships with new clients. I am told that I am incredibly easy to talk to, and exceptionally non-judgmental and warm. I am also very solution-focused. We will together work through whatever is bothering you to find a way forward that works for you. If you are struggling with something that is outside my experience I would be happy to make a referral for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

The number and frequency of sessions is entirely up to you. I see some clients on a weekly basis, others fortnightly or even monthly. I do not generally recommend one-off sessions, apart from to past clients, but many of my clients find that they only need a small number of sessions to get to the heart of the matter and find a solution to whatever they are struggling with.
