About me

Hi! I'm Jess! An integrative counsellor offering face to face sessions in Wolverhampton as well as online sessions to people all over the UK. My location is town central and easy to access via public transport.

If you're feeling under the weather, irritable, worn out, feeling a little lost, struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression or just plain fed up, then counselling may be for you.

I offer an inclusive and non judgmental service for people aged 16 and up. Working in a flexible way so that we can find an approach that works for you to reach your goals.

Through my own experiences with personal counselling, I know that taking the step to ask for help can be nerve wracking. Especially when you don't know what to expect! That's why in our initial free get to know you call, we'll spend some time chatting about how you would like to use sessions. This way we can tailor them to suit you. You can also use this time to ask me any questions you might have about me or counselling in general and see if you think we might be a good fit.

There's no commitment. We can work in a short term or long term capacity, with regular check ins to be sure sessions are meeting your needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

I gained a Level 5 in Therapeutic Counselling in the Person Centred style. This means that I work in a way that is based around you, your needs and how you work best.

During my training I completed my 100 placement hours with Wolverhampton LGBT+ and continue to enjoy working with my colleagues and the community.

I work with Brighter Mindset, where we have been focussing our efforts on men's mental health. As well as endeavouring to offer low cost counselling to people in the Black Country area.

I have worked with clients experiencing issues with anxiety, depression, relationships, ADHD, autism, abuse, difficulties at work and a range of other concerns.

Every person I work with has been completely different. Because of this I continue to take part in regular training in different areas to give me the best knowledge base to help you in whatever areas you need.

My special interest is neurodivergence; working from a place of lived experience.

I am kink aware and continue to expand my knowledge in this area with a view to make this my specialism.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

My Wolverhampton location is wheelchair accessible via a ramp outside and a lift inside.
