About me
My name is Jenny, and I am a qualified counsellor registered with the BACP. Alongside my private therapy I work as a school counsellor with children and young people and in a mental health charity with adults. I have additional qualifications in suicide, self-harm and social science. I have a passion for working with children and young people as well as adults. I also specialise in working with people affected by chronic illness. My experience working as a school counsellor and in a mental health charity has given me extensive knowledge of the issues both Adults and children are facing with their mental health.
My work with adults range from many different issues that we face daily, from mild to severe. Today, life feels even harder just to get up in the morning without any big life events added in. Sometimes the day to day stuff is just too much. I can help support you through these times, and we can work together to try and navigate what is affecting your emotional health. There is so much knowledge out there about us looking after our physical health, but our mental health is just as important, if not more. I promise to offer you a safe space, without judgment, and meet you with empathy and kindness.
With Children and young people as a parent myself, I know all too well how hard it is when your child is suffering and you feel helpless and at a loss of how best to support them. We know how hard it is to be a child in today's world, add in to that school, exams, friendships, relationships, social media, to name a few, and it's a whole other ball game. I'm here to support your child, listen without judgment, and create a safe space away from that world where they can just be themselves. I know taking the first step in getting them support is not only scary but anxiety inducing as well, and I promise to meet you with empathy, kindness, and understanding. It is a big deal trusting someone with your child's feelings, and I do not take that lightly. I promise a warm and gentle experience in starting the journey of getting them the support they need.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
