About me
Hello, my name is Jennifer, and I am a psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist.
I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships, and experiences at your own pace.
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally drained, disconnected from yourself, struggling in relationships, or finding it difficult to cope with work, family, or life changes. Sometimes there is no single reason - just a sense that something doesn’t feel right.
Psychodynamic counselling helps you understand yourself more deeply by exploring the patterns, emotions, and experiences that may be shaping your present life. Together, we can begin to notice recurring patterns in thoughts, feelings, relationships, and reactions, while creating space to reflect on where these may come from.
Through this process, counselling can help you:
- Understand yourself and your emotional patterns more clearly
- Recognise and break unhelpful cycles
- Respond to situations with more awareness and choice
- Build healthier relationships and boundaries
- Develop greater self-esteem and self-understanding
- Feel more confident managing change, stress, and difficult emotions
- Gain insight into how past experiences may still be affecting you in the present
I work with clients experiencing:
- Anxiety
- Low self-esteem or self-worth
- Relationship difficulties
- Attachment and trust issues
- Family dynamics
- Work-related stress and burnout
- Feeling stuck, lost, or overwhelmed
- Life transitions and change
- Trauma and difficult past experiences
- I also support people navigating identity, sexuality, life-changing diagnoses, and emotionally challenging experiences
I understand that starting counselling can feel like a big step, and finding the right counsellor/therapist is important. I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation where we can talk about what brings you to therapy, and you can get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
You’re very welcome to get in touch.

I have worked as an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) counsellor, where I provided support to individuals from diverse ages, backgrounds, cultures, and religions. This role has given me experience in helping people navigate a wide range of personal and professional challenges.
I also work with counselling students, supporting them through the personal and emotional aspects of training, including the challenges that can arise throughout the process.
I work in accordance with professional and ethical guidelines and engage in regular monthly clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
