About me

Hello and welcome. My name is Jenna. I am a qualified humanistic and integrative psychotherapist. This means that alongside working through any struggles or challenges you may be facing, my focus is on you as a unique individual. I draw from researched theories and techniques to attend to your distinctive needs and help deepen self-awareness. Throughout your journey, I hold hope that you can start strengthening or rebuilding a relationship with an important person in your life…. YOU!

Prior to psychotherapy, I worked with neurodivergent adults with severe learning difficulties, autism, and ADHD. I was also a primary school volunteer supporting children who needed additional educational support. My area of work as a psychotherapist has been with survivors of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, complex trauma, and students battling the demands and pressure of university.

I have a calm, comfortable space and I am dedicated to creating an environment that offers freedom for exploration, healing, and growth. I understand from personal experience the importance of finding a place to share without feeling judged, holding this in mind my approach is warm and respectful. I also commit to monthly supervision to ensure effective and ethical practice. For people who prefer to express themselves creatively, I have art equipment and visual tools with an area to engage imaginatively. I offer free psychoeducational resources to help with sleep disturbance, anxiety, shutdown, and understanding how the nervous system works. I also understand that not everyone knows what has brought them to therapy, and that’s ok; we can explore this together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Throughout our work, rather than looking for quick solutions, my focus is on the cause. Some of my integration gives thought to early attachment dynamics and how the past plays out in adulthood. I explore defence mechanisms and coping strategies, considering how they once served a purpose but may also be working against you in the here and now. I focus on big T and little T trauma, and unconscious processes.

With there being a key focus on the working relationship, if at any point you felt that you were not getting what you wanted from therapy, we can discuss this openly and explore what may be a better fit for you.

I have experience working with adults (18+) with the following symptoms/issues anxiety, depression, ADHD, overwhelm, relationship issues, shame, identity, trauma, complex trauma, finding your purpose, stress, anger, recovering from domestic abuse, sexual abuse, letting go, low self-esteem, struggling with feelings of abandonment, and childhood difficulties.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
