About me

Most of us will face times in our lives when we experience unwanted thoughts or emotions that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected and unable to cope. I am able to offer you a warm, open and supportive space where we can explore together the issues that are important to you, at a pace that feels comfortable.

My name is Jared. I am an Integrative Counsellor who works from a relational perspective. This means that my counselling practice is based on exploring how the events and influences that we experience throughout our lives, may relate to how we decide to view the world around us and our own place within it.

By developing our awareness of why we might relate to ourselves and others in the ways that we do, can provide us with the knowledge and confidence to make different choices when faced with the challenges of the future.

This understanding that our experience of life is multilayered and influenced by a wide range of factors personal to each individual, guides my belief that therapy should not take a one size fits all approach.

I therefore draw upon my knowledge of many different forms of counselling to provide a non-directive therapeutic space, that is carefully tailored to support you, as we work together towards your goals and help you feel more connected with yourself and the world around you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I run an inclusive and neurodivergent aware practice, that is open and supportive to all. I have experience of working with a diverse client base and a wide range of issues that include but are not limited to grief, loss, change, isolation, trauma, anxiety, panic, abuse, assault, relationships, family dynamics and employment.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
