About me
Identifying the thoughts, feelings and inner struggles that are holding you back can be daunting, but my role is to walk alongside you, enabling you to find clarity, calm, and good mental health. At the heart of my counselling approach is a commitment to creating a safe, non-judgemental space where you can freely be yourself and explore any aspect of life that matters to you.
As a neuroaffirming therapist with over three decades of experience supporting people with their mental health and self-development, you can be confident you are in safe hands. My experience with anxiety, neurodivergence, and domestic abuse, in both private healthcare and educational fields, has provided me with a deep understanding of a broad spectrum of challenges including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, low self-esteem, trauma, and family-related issues
My role as a university lecturer, in a counselling and psychology department, compliments the work I do, helps me to develop as a reflective practitioner, and enables me to keep up-to-date with current theory and practice.
The relationship of trust between a client and counsellor is central to this therapeutic process, therefore I offer all prospective clients the opportunity to meet for an initial (free) twenty-minute consultation, to ensure you have found the right therapist for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
Both my Diploma in Integrative Counselling and ongoing Masters in Mental Health Sciences, mean you can be confident you are in safe hands.
While I have some specific areas of specialism, namely autism, anxiety, and depression, I also have experience in a range of issues, including those related to family issues, low self esteem, employment, bereavement, and trauma.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
