About me

With 18 years of experience as a psychotherapist, I’m able to quickly build a picture of what’s going on - the patterns, triggers and ways of responding that have brought someone to where they are today, and what may help them move forward.

I’ve also come to understand how the uncertainty we carry, the information we consume and the pressures we’re under can register in our nervous system before we’ve even had a chance to think. That nervous system response can then influence everything from our thoughts and emotions to our behaviour, decision-making and sense of what is possible.

How I Work

My approach is shaped by over a decade providing trauma-informed therapy to survivors of torture and trafficking within specialist human rights organisations. This work gave me a deep understanding of how our nervous system responds to challenge, uncertainty and adversity.

I subsequently trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), deepening my understanding of the relationship between our thoughts, emotions, behaviours and physical responses - and how these patterns can sometimes keep us stuck.

Drawing on both perspectives, I combine therapy and coaching to provide targeted, solution-focused support.

Therapy helps you understand the why - the experiences and patterns shaping your current responses.

Coaching provides the how - practical, evidence-based tools to build healthier and more effective ways of responding.

Together, they create change that’s both insightful and intentional - and equip you with the tools and understanding to manage your own wellbeing moving forward.

Ways We Can Work Together

Navigating Change

Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, facing a major life transition, managing the pressures of a demanding professional role, or adjusting to a late ADHD diagnosis, periods of change can challenge our confidence, coping strategies and sense of direction.

Together, we make sense of what’s happening, identify what may need to change, and develop practical ways of responding that help you move forward with greater clarity and resilience.

If you’ve recently received an ADHD diagnosis, this work can help you make sense of your experiences, process feelings of loss, frustration or relief, and develop approaches that work for you rather than against you.

Climate Anxiety and Global Uncertainty

I’m also aware that many people are quietly carrying a growing sense of anxiety about the future — from climate change to wider global uncertainty. These worries can sit in the background of everyday life, creating a sense of unease that’s difficult to talk about and hard to shake.

This is an area of support that I specialise in. My work in climate and mental health has informed WHO Europe climate-health policy and has been recognised by the Climate Cares Centre at Imperial College London.

Together, we explore ways to stay informed and engaged with the issues that matter to you without becoming overwhelmed by them.

One-Off Reflective Sessions

Sometimes you don’t need ongoing therapy. You simply need a dedicated space to think clearly about a decision, challenge or situation from a fresh perspective.

These sessions offer focused support to help you step back, organise your thoughts and move forward with greater clarity.

My Experience

Before moving into private practice, I spent over a decade providing trauma-informed therapy to survivors of torture and human trafficking within specialist human rights organisations, including Helen Bamber Foundation and Room to Heal. During this time, I secured funding for and developed a dedicated therapeutic programme for trafficked women, leading it from inception.

Building on this experience, I trained in CBT and have spent the past eight years combining therapy and coaching in private practice, supporting people experiencing anxiety, burnout, life transitions and the pressures of professional and family life.

More recently, I have stepped into the area of climate change and mental health, founding Reasons to Be Hopeful, a platform helping young people navigate eco-anxiety and build a sense of hope and agency for the future. I also serve as a media spokesperson on climate and mental health for the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I have always been interested in how people respond to change, uncertainty and complexity. Whether through therapy, research, climate work or my own experiences of navigating life’s transitions, I am continually drawn to understanding what helps us adapt, regain perspective and move forward with confidence - and empowering others do the same.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
