Consultant Clinical Psychologist (DClinPsy, BSc)

About me

I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, ACAT Accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Practitioner and EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). I am HCPC registered and

I worked in the NHS for over 20 years and now have a Private Psychology Practice (Therapy for Health) in Appley Bridge, Wigan. Areas of specialty include adult mental health and adult physical health including Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Abuse, PTSD, Pain Management (Chronic Pain and/or Persistent Pain), Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Long-term Physical Health Conditions, Loss & Bereavement, Relationship Difficulties, Low Self-Esteem.

I offer a safe, accepting and non-judgemental space to explore any physical health or emotional difficulty you are facing that is affecting your well-being. I aim to offer you the care and support you need at a time you may be feeling understandably overwhelmed. I utilise evidence based interventions that will be specifically personalised to your individual needs. Taking the time to listen carefully to the difficulties you are experiencing, we can explore how change may be possible and think together about what your goals for therapy may be.

Thinking about therapy can be understandably daunting and it is important you feel safe and comfortable and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have throughout the therapy process.

I am happy to offer a free consultation to chat things through together first. My office contact number is 01942 366034.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I have completed further training in evidence based psychological interventions including Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
