About me
Hello my name is Jan and I am an experienced counsellor and clinical supervisor. I offer therapeutic support and guidance through a skilled, non-judgmental, down-to-earth, and safe approach which enables you to talk and have the space to think things over or heal. You may have identified that you need time to renew your perspective, resolve outstanding difficulties and explore pathways for growth. You might need space to regroup and reflect, or just feel better and more positive about life. I will listen carefully, with care and empathy to help you make sense of things.
I have counselled people who have experienced many difficult, painful or tangled emotions, those with depression, anxiety, feelings of isolation, identity or belonging, work issues, and those who need support with their relationships, or who have experienced loss. Working alongside my clients has helped them to feel more balance and heard, and less alone with their feelings or thoughts.
My sessions allow time to focus on what matters to you so that you work towards a clearer outlook.
I have a private practice in Letchworth Garden City and in Stotfold where we can meet for face-to-face sessions but also offer online and telephone sessions.
About me
I qualified as a counsellor in 2007 and later in my career trained as a mediator and restorative approaches specialist at Cambridge University. I developed my skills further by training as a lecturer in adult education and clinical supervision, providing guidance to counsellors, student counsellors, social workers and frontline professionals. I have held posts within adult education and specialise with training the Person Centred Approach, Trauma Informed Care and Practices, and conflict resolution skills. I have a wealth of experience having supported individuals within schools and adult education, mental health, local authorities, addiction & recovery, criminal justice setting, within private practice and a local counselling service. I also support employers with employee assistance programme as part of their continued commitment to the wellbeing of their staff. I believe that when people feel well that they do well and therefore have a particular interest with supporting people to live a good life.
Next Steps
If you would like to explore more about counselling you can click the email button above and fill in the brief contact form, or you can call me, or pop me a text or WhatsApp with your details. I will get back to you as soon as possible (please check your spam folder if emailing me). I always offer a free 20 minute online or telephone consultation. This means that we can talk through your needs and you can learn more about how I work, and this can help you decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. We can then agree on a suitable time for our first session.
Other considerations: I offer online or face-to-face options for all potential clients. I offer clinical supervision to qualified practitioners and individuals who are training.
Student and low cost sessions are available. Please let know your requirements and how I can help you access counselling.
