About me
People come to counselling for many reasons: ongoing anxiety, low mood or depression, difficulties in relationships, unresolved family issues, or the impact of trauma and loss. Others seek support with stress, anger, low self-esteem, or the challenges that can come with neurodiversity, including ADHD and autism. Whatever brings you, my role is to offer a steady, thoughtful space where your experiences can be explored at your pace.
I work integratively, tailoring therapy to you rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. I’m interested in how past and present experiences shape patterns of thinking, feeling and relating—whether these show up as anxiety, symptoms of PTSD, addictive behaviours, or difficulties in relationships. Alongside insight, we can also focus on practical ways of coping, helping you feel more grounded, resourced and able to respond differently to life’s pressures.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate and non-judgmental. I value curiosity, emotional honesty and building a therapeutic relationship where you feel understood. Therapy with me is not about fixing you, but about supporting change, growth and a deeper sense of self-acceptance and self knowledge.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a BACP-registered integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, with postgraduate training from the University of Warwick and Newman University, Birmingham. My core training integrates humanistic, psychodynamic, CBT and Gestalt approaches, allowing me to work flexibly with a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, anger management and relationship difficulties.
Alongside my formal psychotherapy and counselling training, I have over ten years’ experience in psychoeducation, mindfulness and compassion-based work, including Cognitively Based Compassion Training (CBCT). This informs my work with clients experiencing high self-criticism, shame, low self-confidence, stress and emotional overwhelm.
I regularly undertake continued professional development, particularly in areas such as neurodiversity, attachment, trauma-informed practice and relational work. My practice is supported by ongoing clinical supervision and adherence to the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring therapy is safe, reflective and responsive to your needs.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
