About me
I am an experienced Therapist in the Poulton and Blackpool area having worked within the mental health sector for 20 years. I work with young people and adults across the full range of psychological disorders including relationship issues, anxiety, depression and suicidal issues. I also have experience working with disability - both learning and physical disabilities.
I work with struggles around obesity, self-concept and sexual or gender identity. My work has covered illness, loss and terminal diagnosis.
If you have issues in your workplace, your home life or in day-to-day life I can support you. This may be around communication, the forming of or maintaining relationships.
If your struggles relate to your childhood or your past let me join you and hopefully together we can find your peace and your place within that. If your struggle is about performance, success or coping with life let me join you as you become the change!
I understand that life can sometimes be incredibly challenging and we could all benefit from a safe place to share what is going on in our mind. Although we may have friends and family around us who genuinely care, the thought of telling them exactly how we are feeling can be overwhelming. We don’t want to feel like we are burdening them and can fear what they may think of us. At other times, we may feel so alone in this world and just need a compassionate and kind ear to hear our story.
I offer an informal and no-fee introductory meeting. This is a short meeting where we can address any questions that you may have and check out if we are a good fit for each other. I have regular clinical supervision meaning my practice is current, safe and well managed. I work flexibly, both face to face and remotely.
About me: I have worked extensively with individuals with learning disabilities and physical disabilities. In the past 15 years, I have set up groups that bring together people who have similar life experiences to facilitate friendship, connection and belonging. I have set up community walks to encourage health and well-being.
In 2021 I started volunteering at the YMCA as a psychotherapist.
Governing Bodies/ Insurance: I am a member of the BACP. I hold a current Enhanced DBS disclosure and am fully insured to practice.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
