Qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist. MBACP

About me

Hello and welcome to my profile, are you struggling and feel like you need someone to talk to? I understand that taking the first step towards reaching out for help is extremely difficult but I also believe it is the best thing you will ever do. As a person I am incredibly passionate about helping people, especially if they are in some form of distress, and would like to think we could work together to relieve this. Throughout my work as a counsellor I have helped people overcome many issues such as: anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement, PTSD, abuse, work related stress and relationship/family issues.

Difficulties in your life which seem overwhelming and create anxieties and/or stress are normal. However if this impacts your everyday life and you feel yourself not being able to live the life you want to or achieve the goals you would like to, counselling can help overcome these issues in many different ways. I have been trained to use different techniques and would use the best available tools to help you such as: cognitive behavioural therapy, transactional analysis, psychodynamics and person-centred therapies.

I am a fully qualified Counsellor and I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As a member of the BACP I follow their ethical guidelines which involves being honest, trustworthy, providing confidentiality and always keeping the clients best interest at the heart of everything I do. In doing this, I believe the therapeutic relationship between myself and the client is the most important aspect in achieving positive outcomes throughout the counselling process. I offer a non-judgemental, supportive relationship where you will be accepted for who you are, to explore any difficulties you may be experiencing.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
