About me
I work as an integrative counsellor, providing a supportive space to explore areas in your life where you might feel stuck or held back either by past experiences or current challenges. With empathy and compassion, I create a non-judgmental environment where you can explore your feelings at your own pace.
I believe that increasing self-awareness helps us recognise patterns that may no longer serve us, uncover feelings we may be avoiding or minimising, and identify roles that no longer feel authentic. By understanding ourselves and embracing the choices available to us, we can reconnect with our true selves and move forward with empowerment. There are many ways we can work together and depending on what you might decide would always be how we would proceed. Ways to explore, alongside talk therapy might include use of mind maps, genograms, parts of self exploration, exploration of emotions using different methods, to name but a few.
The client counsellor relationship is important and I offer a confidential, safe and supportive space for you to explore. Sometimes, we are not even sure what's not right, but by offering a space where you can take time to explore without judgement, to be heard, seen and validated can help. Increasing a greater understanding of your own needs, feelings and unique circumstances and working toward meaningful change or to explore coping strategies.
Relationships, family issues, work, stress, anxiety, depression, loneliness, financial concerns, loss, illness, are all common stress factors today to name but a few. At differing life stages something may emerge and challenge us. Whatever stage you are at talking and working together may enable you to find ways to navigate and cope. More and more people are also recognising and living with neuro-divergence or are receiving diagnosis and I am able to discuss and find ways to work that suit each client as an individual and/or to work with supporting any impact it may be having on your life.
Many clients recognise ways in which they might be self-sabotaging but are finding it difficult to stop or manage. These might include concerns about over/under eating, compulsive/or excessive behaviours including alcohol, exercise, work, relationship co-dependency, self-harm. Exploring and understanding the emotions under these behaviours can often help to identify causes and impact on current emotions including depression, anxiety, stress etc.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
