About me

I am a qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working in Oxford and North London.

Integrative psychotherapy is less of a technique and more of a philosophy or approach. It takes a holistic view of a person that accepts and uses multiple different psychological approaches depending on a client's needs.

I believe that each person is a unique individual with their own story, patterns and ways of relating to both themselves, others and the world around them.  Integrative psychotherapy supports a journey around the many aspects or, 'parts' of ourselves, both past and present.

People come to therapy for many reasons: Feeling alone, stuck, confused, struggling with internal or external conflicts, or trying to understand why we make certain 'choices' in life. It may be that we behave in certain ways that confuse us, feel discomfort or trauma in our bodies, or want to find a better way of communicating our needs.  Sometimes symptoms such as eating disorders, addictions, depression or anxiety become intolerable and we desire change. There are simply times when we need support, understanding, and independent and non-judgmental guidance.

Therapy can allow for a conversation to take place to help give space and a voice to some of the suffering.  Working together we can be curious, learning to, 'be with', 'feel into' and observe not only the story, but also how we create a meaningful relationship together. Hopefully through being in therapy you will be seeing and interested in a different, freer, fresher perspective of yourself.

I believe in the transformative possibilities that can be achieved through a therapeutic relationship. Therapy is an opportunity to unravel ourselves, dive deeper into the complexities of who we are, our relationships and what we want out of life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
