About me
Imagine you have a suitcase, and in this suitcase you pack all your worries, anxiety, stress, grief, anger, trauma, relationship struggles, work stress, family difficulties and then you close the lid. You think it's all gone but the suitcase is heavy and starts to weigh you down even further than before, so you find me and you bring me your suitcase and together we unpack that suitcase until it is either empty, or much lighter, how would that feel?
Couples Counselling
Sometimes in a relationship we can experience a feeling of getting stuck in a rut, or loosing that spark that was there in the beginning of the relationship, or just feeling unheard and unseen maybe taken for granted or unappreciated.
Arguments can escalate or come out of nowhere or seem to become more frequent and resolving them seems more difficult. They can seem to last longer, or just remain unresolved and ignored, so understanding how to resolve conflict and talk really effectively can be a game changer.
A break in trust through affair or behaviour can be devastating to a relationship, and it can feel like it is beyond repair and the damage so impactful there is no moving forward, so being able to talk in a respectful, safe environment with someone who is impartial can just give you the clarity and space you might need.
I'm passionate about counselling and working with a couple to support and share in the tools and working together through whatever the reason for counselling in a neutral, calm respectful space.
Individual counselling
- Anger is something that can impact not only us but our work, family & loved ones and we become someone different when that anger takes over, snapping and loosing patience can be a struggle, but it is understanding where this anger comes from and why we can go from 0-100 in seconds which can make all the difference.
- Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, Stress, one or all of these can impact our day to day lives and knock us for 6. Sometimes it feels like we can't breath, it can come out of the blue and we just want to hide away and not talk to anyone or show how we are feeling as sometimes it's difficult to explain to others how we feel and putting on a smile and saying we are fine is becoming harder and harder.
- Bereavement, Miscarriage & infant loss. There is no time limit on grief and being able to move hand in hand with the loss of someone close to us can be difficult for other people to understand.
- Abuse and Trauma. These are life changing events that stay with us weather they are recent or from the past but sometimes they can become overwhelming and impact not only our mental health but our day to day life and the smallest thing might be a trigger to these events and knock us of our feet.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
My working space is a private area surrounded by trees and is not overlooked. Creating a calm welcoming space where you feel comfortable is important to me, bringing your own items to feel relaxed is encouraged, this may be a cushion, comfort blanket or other personal item. There is free on road parking for my face to face clients, and if you feel more comfortable being in your own home I offer on line where I encourage you to be relaxed and again have your personal items with you if this is helpful to feel safe and at ease.
