I am also a member of the National Counselling Society.
How I work and what to expect at the beginning;
I use an integrative approach to help people who are having difficulties in their life and wish to seek an independent helper to listen and provide a non-judgmental environment in which to explore these difficulties. The therapeutic relationship is an important part of the therapy and I strive to provide a safe, empathetic, trusting environment.
When we first meet I will explain how I work and gain an understanding of the issues you are bringing to therapy so that we may decide if I am the right person for you and plan a way forwards. I have trained in many theoretical approaches which allows me to use the best approach(es) dependent on your needs and what is most appropriate for you. I can provide online/telephone counselling as well as short and long term face to face counselling. I work from my practices in Hessett, near Bury St.Edmunds and in Northgate Avenue in Bury St.Edmunds. I am a senior accredited registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and the National Counselling Society both of who are accredited by the governments voluntary Professional Standards Authority register (PSA). This guarantees that I have met a high level of training and experience.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
