About me

I love to help people find out more about themselves and recognise their worth. I know that understanding your struggles can be confusing and stressful, but I also know that there’s hope.

Do you feel that you're not being heard? Do you want a counsellor who strives to know the real you? I'm inquisitive and like to see things from all angles which could help provide a different perspective or can help make some sense of it all.

In our sessions, depending on what has brought you to counselling, I would help you to explore your own issues, your history where relevant, your feelings, behaviour, beliefs, values and worldview, so you can become more self-aware and confident in making your own choices.

I won't try to 'fix' you or tell you what to do but can help you see that you have options.  With the right support, I believe you can make sense of what's happening for you now and get back to feeling like yourself again, or even a more confident and empowered you.

You may not be used to sharing your experiences, thoughts and feelings with another person and that could feel strange or even scary at first. However, I am here to guide you through it at your own pace. I won't make you to share anything that you are not ready to share. Clients have commented that they find me warm, calm and approachable.

I work with individuals (age 18+) from all walks of life who are struggling with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, relationship difficulties, childhood issues, work issues, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, long term health issues, anger, lack of purpose, not feeling understood, cultural conflicts and life-transition struggles.

If I sound like I could be a good fit for you, then please get in touch today.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor and I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).  I work as an 'integrative counsellor' which means that I can draw upon a range of different therapeutic approaches in order to support you as an individual.     I am also a qualified Breathwork Coach.  Breathwork is a natural, simple and powerful tool that has the ability to transform your wellbeing.  It is extremely beneficial for people who suffer with the symptoms of trauma, depression, anxiety, sleep issues and chronic pain.

I love learning and am committed to continuing my personal and professional development.  I regularly attend courses and workshops in subjects that interest me and that help inform my counselling practice.

I had the privilege of working for five years for a registered charity providing counselling to a diverse range of clients living within Maidenhead, Slough, Windsor and surrounding areas.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
