About me
Hi, I’m Isobel and thank you for taking the time to read my bio!
I see myself as a friendly and approachable counsellor who always aims to make my clients feel that they have made the right decision in choosing to work with me.
I am a person-centred counsellor, which means I place you, the client, at the centre of the work. It is important to me that I create a safe and open space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace and without judgment.
I strive to bring empathy, authenticity, and complete acceptance to our work together. I’ll always listen with an open heart, and I’m here to support you in a way that feels right for you - whether you're facing challenges with anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, or anything else that’s weighing on you.
I feel it is important to note that, should you choose to work with me as your counsellor, it is not about me telling you what to do. Rather than me giving advice or directing the sessions, we will work collaboratively, trusting that you have the inner resources to find your own answers. By fostering self-awareness and emotional safety, I will support you in your personal growth, healing, and decision-making.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, which means I abide by their ethical framework and uphold their standards, morals and values as a professional counsellor. I work online and face-to-face.
If you feel ready to begin, I’d be glad to support you on your journey.
Please contact me for an initial consultation, and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
My counselling journey began while I was completing my degree in Health and Social Care at university. One of my modules - Counselling and Guidance Skills - opened my eyes to the power of genuine human connection, active listening, and creating a space where people feel truly heard. From that moment, I knew I’d found the path I wanted to follow.
I have experience working with students, providing counselling support for them whilst they are at college, which has given me a deep understanding of the pressures young people face, from academic stress to identity and relationship concerns. I have also worked for a charity which allowed me to support individuals from a wide range of backgrounds who were navigating a variety of life challenges, often during vulnerable moments.
I continue to complete CPD and attend clinical supervision to support safe and ethical practice.
