About me
Hi, I’m India.
Being human can be messy and overwhelming, and sometimes we need time and space to process this. We lose our way and find ourselves in situations where we feel stuck, disconnected and hopeless. I aim to welcome you and help you feel comfortable talking about whatever you want, and at your own pace. Let’s sit together, take the time and work together to untangle what is hurting.
“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination” Carl Rogers.
I am a fully qualified Humanistic counsellor, drawing mostly from Person-Centered, Systemic and Existential theories. I have experience working with people from all walks of life and believe that each person brings their own unique and individual story. It is important to me that I promote your autonomy and choice, alongside creating a collaborative relationship where I can offer you feedback and make observations.
I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, children and families through my work in the NHS where I lead a counselling service. I have also worked for multiple children and family services and have years of experience supporting people in my own practice. As an example, some of the issues I work with are Relationships, Bereavement, Family issues, Terminal illness, Identity, Self-Esteem, Emotional difficulties and Sex issues.
I offer sessions in person from a private room in Emsworth or Online via Zoom.
I am a registered member of the BACP to ensure I maintain good ethical practice. I am fully insured and ICO registered.
To help you find out if I am the right counsellor for you, I offer a 10-minute free of charge phone or Zoom consultation. Please note, I do not return calls to unknown numbers, without the caller leaving a voicemail.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Best wishes,
India.
“It is an ironic habit of human beings to run faster when they have lost their way.” Rollo May.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
