About me

I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor based in the heart of Norwich, with special interests in: working with Anxiety and Depression/ Trauma/ coming to terms with an ASD and ADHD diagnosis/ working with Relationship difficulties/ working with Grief/ exploring Identity, among the many other struggles you may face.

Being a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor means the relationship we develop together is key for the work. I am committed to be alongside you on this ride as we use the mind, the body and the bigger than us things of our existence, to explore what is behind you seeking counselling.

The power of Integrative Counselling is that my approach to working with you will be as unique as you.

There is no one size fits all when it comes to your personal experience and your mental health. Together, we work out what aproach suits you best. Whether exploring and adjusting behaviours or exploring the past and how it now influences the present. Whether we focus on the bigger than us thoughts of life or re-connecting to our body and using breath to help regulate and ground. We could delve into the unconscious or stay present in the now, or a combination of them all. There are many ways of working to help uncover the root of our problems, which in turn can provide much freedom.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BSc (Hons) in Integrative Counselling, an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling, and an Introduction to Counselling Skills qualification.

I hold a Full Clinical Psychotherapeutic Counsellor membership with the UKCP.

Alongside private practice I also work as a Therapeutic clinician with Attune (we-are-attune.com) focusing on supporting the mental health of professionals in the entertainment industry.
I am a registered practitioner with BAPAM (bapam.org.uk) providing therapeutic support for individuals in the creative industry.
And I am a registered counsellor with Sporting chance (sportingchanceclinic.com) providing mental health support for professional sportspeople. Additionally, I was a volunteer Counsellor at Off the Record, a counselling service in Norwich for 3 years.

Before training as a Counsellor, I was a teacher for many years, specialising in Music Technology and working with students with Special Educational Needs and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties. I have personal and professional experience in mental health spanning over 20 years.

Further information

I work from my private practice in the centre of Norwich on Ber Street, located behind Notre Dame School about 3 minutes walk from John Lewis.

The building is a beautiful listed building with cultural interest and lots of character. My practice is located on the second floor, which is not ideal for everyone (for which I do apologise) but I also offer online sessions. The room is bright, spacious, quiet and comfortable.

I offer a free 15-minute assessment phone call to understand your needs and determine if we are a good fit. From there, we can arrange regular sessions, with the first session being an opportunity to discuss the process and address any concerns you may have.
