About me
As a fully qualified psychotherapist with several years of post-qualification experience, I support clients in exploring patterns of behaviour, emotional responses, and relationship dynamics. Through this process, we can build deeper understanding and strengthen emotional resilience.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. I aim to help you gain insight, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change.
I also offer EMDR therapy, which can be especially helpful if past experiences, trauma, or distressing memories continue to impact how you feel within yourself, your relationships, or your sense of safety.
Psychosexual Therapy
My specialist area is psychosexual therapy, where I support individuals and couples with sexual and intimacy concerns. Many people live with these difficulties for years before seeking help.
People often come to therapy feeling confused, frustrated, or quietly worried about their sex life. This might include loss of desire, anxiety around intimacy, painful or unfulfilling sex, or a sense of disconnection from themselves or their partner. Sometimes, you may not have the words for what feels wrong only a sense that something isn’t working as you had hoped.
Because our sexual experiences are closely connected to our emotional and relational worlds, psychosexual therapy considers both mind and body, alongside practical, behavioural approaches to change.
Next Steps
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel challenging. When you are ready, I welcome your enquiry and look forward to supporting you on your therapeutic journey.
Training, qualifications & experience
I qualified as a counsellor in 2014 and as a psychotherapist in 2017. I hold a diploma in both counselling and psychotherapy from the Northern Guild.
I am trained to deliver EMDR therapy completing my training in January 2023. EMDR is an evidenced based and a highly effective type of therapy for those with trauma and/or PTSD.
I have also undertaken specialist training to deliver psychosexual therapy with a Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy from Tavistock Relations.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
