About me
I am a Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist with 20 years experience working in mental health. Whether you are feeling sad, anxious, stressed, low in confidence or you have specific condition such as an Eating Disorders, PTSD or OCD there is help available. Together we can make sense of what’s happening and I really believe I can help you change your life. That might be through healing from the past, learning new skills for the present, developing confidence or navigating a difficult situation together.
I am fascinated by the mind and body connection and also work with individuals with persistent physical symptoms or illness (including FND) as well as offering treatment for individuals following brain injury.
I am flexible in my approach and together we tailor treatment to suit your needs so you can reach your goals for therapy and beyond. This includes building sessions that are flexible around you. I offer a range of treatments including EMDR, CBT, ACT, DBT and more. I am inclusive and integrative, so that we can build the best the treatment for you. While I’m a Clinical Psychologist, I’m not really ‘clinical’ and I don’t just speak from a book. I’ve read my fair share of books and have knowledge to offer, but ultimately I’m a human, there with you, when you need it most.
I aim to be down to earth, kind, open and honest in order to help you achieve your goals. I offer a free brief introductory call, to get a sense of me, with no obligation to go ahead. It’s so important that you find the right therapist for you and this is a good place to start. If you are considering therapy do reach out, I would love to help!

Here are some things my clients say about me
“Working with Heidi has been genuinely transformative. Through EMDR and her thoughtful, professional approach, she helped me uncover and work through issues and traumas that I had carried for years without fully understanding. Together, we addressed many of the most significant challenges of my life, leading to breakthroughs that fundamentally changed how I viewed myself and my future. I have left sessions looking out of the train window with a sense of clarity, optimism, and possibility that I had never experienced before. Heidi is warm, insightful, approachable, and exceptionally skilled at what she does. What stands out most is her ability to listen deeply and gently guide you towards important realisations, helping you make connections and progress that can be difficult, maybe even impossible, to achieve alone. I would not hesitate to recommend Heidi to anyone considering therapy.”
"I’ve had regular therapy sessions with Heidi for over six years now. We initially worked through the traumatic and sudden death of my mum, helping me process the grief of such a significant loss at just 20 years old. Over the years, I’ve continued to come back to Heidi to work through both personal and work-related stresses. More recently, we’ve been working through childhood memories using EMDR, which has helped me live more fully in the present and become less vulnerable to triggers that arise in adult life. I couldn’t recommend Heidi highly enough. She has truly helped me build a fulfilling and happy life, and I hope to continue working with her through all the chapters still to come. Five stars wouldn’t be enough to express my gratitude or reflect my experience. Highly recommend."
"I’ve worked with Dr Heidi Hand through a combination of CBT and EMDR. In that time she has helped me navigate major life changes and work through both deep rooted and more recent traumas — always with warmth, skill, and genuine care. More than anything, she is helping me build a life I truly love and know I deserve. It has been a privilege to work with her, and I look forward to continuing the journey."
