About us

Hello.  Life can become overwhelming at times and looking for a counsellor can be a daunting thought. You may have had counselling before, or this may be your first time, but you’re here, and reaching out is the first step.

My clients have worked through difficulties, amongst others, such as trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, depression, self-harm, ADHD, bullying, suffered a loss or a breakdown in a relationship. Exploring why destructive patterns are repeated. What stays with you from earlier years that affects you today? Living up to other peoples, or society’s expectations and finding themselves under pressure to meet others needs and not being who they truly are. Maybe you are at a time of life where you need some support through change, or struggling to manage a long term condition.

So let me tell you a bit about how I work. Using an integrative approach means I can draw on different aspects of my training to tailor an approach to best suit YOUR needs. I see everyone as a unique individual and work collaboratively with my clients. Here at Healy's counselling, my aim is to make you feel at ease, seen, held and truly heard. I will support you as explore where you are today, the ways you relate to others, your thoughts, emotions, ways of coping, what is causing you to feel this way and together we will work to navigate you through this journey of self-discovery. My aim is for you to become more self-aware and to empower you to bring about change.

I know life is busy, so I work face to face in nice comfortable rooms in Harold Wood and have now extended my practise to an additional location in London E2 and I also work on line.  Choosing the right therapist and having that connections is important, so I offer each of my clients and initial free 15 min telephone call. This way we can get a feel if we are the right fit for one and other. Give me a call to arrange. It's free! You are under no obligation to go any further after that call. I am a registered member of the BACP, fully insured and continuously enhance my practise with continuous professional development.

Reaching out for external help can be the best gift we give ourselves at difficult times.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
