About me

How can I help you ?

As part of being human, we are complex and unpredictable so I am always open to whatever you bring. My lived experiences support this.

I specialise in relationship difficulties, bereavement, significant loss and anxiety; areas for which I have gained much professional experience.

Dealing with difficult life issues such as a bereavement and loss is a very personal experience and talking to loved ones about how we really feel is not always possible. Overwhelming feelings of anxiety, depression, anger, guilt, shame or self-blame can also keep us from sharing.

Facing loss and dealing with the difficult emotions that come up can be quite scary. I will 'hold your hand' mataphorically speaking  I will help you make sense of your issues, supporting you to gain peace and clarity.

There can be so many challenges that come up that it might be difficult to pinpoint any one issue. I will provide support to help you develop greater self -awareness so you can begin to understand what's going on for you. I will help you to 'better feel'.

I will provide empathy, warmth and maybe even humour. As we work together, I will help you find a way for change to happen.

Difficulties from the past can make us feel we are ill-equipped emotionally to handle the present. We might have developed low self worth or low self esteem. I am trauma informed and in my work I bring my knowledge of how unprocessed emotions can affect us and how old wounds can remain embodied.

Alongside my private work I currently work with adolescents and young people in youth counselling.

I have also worked with a bereavement organisation in Ealing helping adults from all walks of life. I acknowledge how our uniqueness and differences can impact each of us in very important and differing ways.

For your personal safety and protection, I am fully insured and have an enhanced DBS check.

As a member of the BACP I adhere to the BACP ethical framework.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a diploma in integrative psychotherapeutic counselling as well as clinical practice in specialist areas of grief and trauma.

With my experience and qualifications I have developed various techniques  for working with a client who feels overwhelmed by situations . I will provide psycho education on what is happening in relation to the body and mind. somatic or body based and mindfulness techniques, as well as looking more carefully at your story . This will help us deepen awareness of what has been taking place and will inform our sessions to allow change to take place.  We will also shine a light on your inner child if it becomes important.

I have an MSC in health promotion and a background in the Social Sciences.

Alongside Private Practice. I have worked with a bereavement organisation in Ealing helping bereaved adults from 16 years old and I currently work with young adults with difficult relational and childhood experiences including self-harm and sexual abuse.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
