About me

If you're stressed, anxious, depressed, confused or overwhelmed, you may need support. As a counsellor, I would work with you to build a supportive relationship where you can be yourself without a filter.  I specialise in working with Deaf people and Hearing Loss.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a sign language interpreter for 11 years, this allows me to offer therapy to Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals as well as hearing individuals. I am trained in Transactional Analysis (TA) which helps individuals explore how and why they think, feel and behave in the way they do.

TA is designed to promote personal growth and change. It is considered a fundamental therapy for well-being and helping individuals reach their full potential in all aspects of life. It is a Humanistic approach to psychotherapy, but it is much more.

When contacted, I usually suggest we set up an initial free screening meeting for 30 minutes to establish what has brought you into therapy. If the relationship seems comfortable and we feel we can work together we will agree on availabilities for our sessions. Usually, clients are seen for 50 minutes once a week, but there is flexibility depending on the needs of the individual.
