About me
Do you find past events and memories difficult to move on from? Do you find yourself feeling irritable or low without understanding why? Do these things get in the way of building the life you want?
Through my counselling, I aim to create a supportive and accepting space to explore what has been troubling you. This could be what has been happening this week or something that has caused you issues for as long as you can remember.
Our work together will offer you the chance to build a stronger understanding of yourself and your relationships. This self-understanding can be extremely healing as you look to move forward and deal with the challenges that life throws at you.
I am passionate about creating an open environment for clients, filled with empathy and understanding. This environment, and the trust that is built between counsellor and client, can empower you to share any issue you are struggling with, knowing that you will be met with compassion.
If this sounds like something that you wish to explore, then please do get in contact to arrange a free introductory 20 minute chat. We will be able to discuss what you are looking for in counselling, answer any questions you have about the counselling process and get a sense of whether we seem like a good fit to work together.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Skills. I continuously seek out courses and resources to aid my continuing professional development to ensure that I remain as skilled as I can be to aid my clients.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
