About me
Are you feeling anxious and overwhelmed? Do you find it difficult to trust yourself or others? Are you struggling in your relationships? Or are you confused and unsure what has drawn you to seek therapy? If any of this feels familiar, you're not alone.
My name is Gwen, and I help clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self-confidence, motivation, relationship issues and relationship patterns that leave them feeling stuck and disconnected. Whether you're facing a recent challenge or carrying experiences from much earlier in life, we can work together at a pace that feels safe and right for you.
I am an integrative counsellor trained in both person-centred and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I tailor my approach to you and what you bring to our sessions. I believe that lasting change comes through curiosity and understanding of ourselves. If you want to connect with yourself and gain a deeper understanding of why you think and behave the way you do, I encourage you to reach out, and we can do this together.
Both during and after my training, I have worked with a diverse client group bringing a broad range of personal challenges. Some of these challenges include relationship issues, attachment styles, identity, sexuality and anxiety. Working with clients of all genders aged sixteen and above.
I learned the importance of a trauma-informed approach through my experience at a local crisis centre. Working with survivors of sexual assault, abuse and gender based violence. This experience has deepened my understanding of how trauma can shape a person’s relationship with their body, their sense of safety, trust and connection with themselves and with others.
I work with people whose bodies may have learned to feel unsafe, helping them to gently reconnect and develop a greater sense of security in self again.
If you are looking for a compassionate therapist who will work alongside you with curiosity, warmth, and respect, please reach out, and we can organise our first session.
If you are unsure whether we would be a good match, or if you have any general enquiries, please don't hesitate to make contact. I am happy to answer any questions.
