About me
Dr Gracie McLaven – Chartered Clinical Psychologist & Director of Serendipity Psychology Services
Hi, I’m Dr Gracie McLaven, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Director of Serendipity Psychology Services, providing expert psychological support across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and Leicestershire. I specialise in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and the lasting effects of transgenerational trauma—the psychological impact of trauma or abuse passed down through generations.
My Approach & Therapeutic Techniques
I draw on a range of gold-standard, evidence-based therapies to create a bespoke treatment plan for each individual. My areas of expertise include:
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) – Effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and low self-esteem
Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) – Supporting connection, attachment, and relationship repair
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – Addressing anxiety, depression, and unhelpful thinking patterns
Clients often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain. Sometimes they can't pinpoint exactly what's wrong, but they know something needs to change. It’s easy to feel pressure to "just get on with it," but unresolved experiences can weigh heavily. My approach is warm, validating, and grounded in creating lasting, meaningful change at a pace that suits you.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
