About me

I work with adults and young people aged 16 and over, who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, grief, low self-esteem or the impact of past experiences—especially those navigating life transitions, early bereavement, or the experience of growing up with emotionally unavailable parents. As an integrative counsellor, I offer a safe and supportive space where you can speak freely, untangle complex emotions, and begin to see a future with more hope, clarity, and self-trust.

Finding a really good therapist that feels right for you is essential. Taking the first step can feel daunting, but I’m here to make it easier. Contact me for a free, no obligation chat to se if we are a good fit.

When Emotions Feel Overwhelming
Feeling anxious, stuck or overwhelmed can be a lonely and confusing place. If you are used to taking care of others and dealing with your own challenges alone, you may find yourself thinking:

“My problems aren’t big enough.”
“Others have it worse.”

Thoughts like these can stop you from reaching out, but bottling up emotions often leads to anxiety, low mood, mood swings, sleep difficulties, lack of motivation or a sense of hopelessness.

How Therapy Can Help

If this is familiar, counselling offers space to speak freely - without fear of judgement or upsetting someone else. This relief can be the first step in finding your voice, quieting the inner critic, and making sense of your experiences. Therapy increases self-awareness, validates your feelings, and helps you communicate without shutting down or lashing out. While life may not be perfect, counselling can help you cope better and build resilience.

What you may be facing:

  • Anxiety, panic or social overwhelm
  • Low self-esteem or emotional numbness
  • Hopelessness, depression, or loss of motivation
  • Challenges around identity or life transitions
  • Grief and early bereavement, including bereavement by suicide
  • Relationship difficulties
  • The impact of our environment on neurodivergence
  • Relationship issues or patterns linked to childhood experience

Adult children of emotionally unavailable or alcoholic parents

If you grew up with a parent who struggled with alcohol, you might carry deep-rooted patterns—like people-pleasing, hyper-independence, or difficulty trusting others.

You may feel responsible for other people’s emotions or unsure of your own needs. These survival strategies can make adult life and relationships feel confusing, draining, or disconnected.

Therapy offers a chance to gently explore these dynamics, understand where they come from, and begin to rewrite them. Together, we can untangle the past from the present, helping you regain a sense of agency, emotional balance, and healthier boundaries.

My Approach

I offer a supportive space that fosters connection, compassion and focus on your needs. My approach is grounded in my training as an integrative relational counsellor and is deeply informed by my values, as I am committed to continuously developing and deepening my anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice. I am an LGBTQI+ ally and have a lived experience of:

  • Bereavement
  • Migration and history or armed conflict in country of origin
  • Single parenting
  • Loss

I particularly enjoy working with young people and clients navigating life transitions, and I have a specific experience in areas such as neurodivergence, bereavement and early bereavement, childhood and family issues, divorce, anxiety, and depression.

In addition to an open, trauma-informed approach, I use psychoeducation, mindfulness, and creative exercises to help you understand how your body responds to stress, fostering resilience and independence.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and hold a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling, which I completed at the Mary Ward Centre in London.

Ongoing Professional Development

As therapists, we never stop learning and developing our understanding and skills. My ongoing additional training includes trauma-informed approaches, the application of neuroscience in therapy, attachment, working with neurodivergence, difference and diversity, somatic therapy, gender and identity, and bereavement through suicide.

Experience

During and following my core training, I worked at the Home Start and Mind charities where I gained invaluable experience supporting clients from all walks of life using open-ended and NHS IAPT-compliant short term models.

I currently see clients and manage a counselling service at a large sixth-form college, working with adolescents alongside my growing private practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
