About me

I offer a warm, compassionate and confidential space where you can slow down, explore what is happening in your life and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.

I am a Core Process Psychotherapist and my work is relational, compassionate and grounded in mindfulness and embodied awareness. I believe that a safe and authentic therapeutic relationship can create the conditions for greater awareness, self-understanding and healing. Together we can explore difficulties, patterns and life experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

I work with adults experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety, stress and emotional overwhelm, loss and bereavement, relationship difficulties, attachment and trauma, identity and sexuality, life transitions and times of uncertainty and change, meaning, purpose & spirituality.

I offer in person psychotherapy on the Devon and Cornwall Boarder and online sessions

Training, qualifications & experience

I have many years of clinical experience across the NHS, public sector and private practice.

My qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, Diploma in Counselling and MA in Core Process Psychotherapy.

For 15 years I worked with the NHS as a Specialist Palliative Care Counsellor alongside the Macmillan service. My wider clinical experience includes bereavement counselling, primary care counselling within GP surgeries and staff counselling for CMHT. I also have more than a decade of teaching experience as a tutor for students of psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute both in Devon and Bristol.

Alongside my public sector and teaching roles, I have maintained a longstanding private practice.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Fees

£70.00 per session

Additional information

My standard fee is £70.00. Sessions are usually weekly and last one hour.

We can discuss the frequency of sessions together, depending on what feels appropriate for you and the work we are doing.

I offer a small number of reduced fee sessions where possible, and I am happy to discuss this with you when you make  contact.

Further information

Beginning therapy can feel daunting, and finding the right therapist is an important part of the process. I offer a free initial conversation/meeting so that we can discuss what has brought you to therapy and what you are looking for.

My intention is to create a space where you can feel genuinely listened to, respected and supported allowing the therapeutic relationship to develop naturally and at a pace that feels  comfortable for you.

If you feel my approach may be helpful, I would be happy to hear from you.
