MBACP Registered Counsellor & Psychotherapist

About me

Making the decision to access therapy is the first step and I understand that reaching out can feel like an overwhelming task. It is important that you find someone who you feel comfortable with, which is why I dedicate time in our early sessions to building a relationship with you that feels safe, trusting and supportive.

Safety should be a minimum expectation in therapy, and I will always make it a priority for my clients, but it is also important for me to get to know you by earning your trust, and making sure you feel truly heard and respected.
Therapy is a collaboration and I strive to ensure my clients can be their authentic self in each and every session.

As an integrative and relational Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I draw on a range of therapeutic models and practices to best support you and the individual needs you bring to our sessions. I currently work with adults and young people aged 16+, and I am registered with the BACP.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can have a conversation about what your therapy could look like and whether we would be a good fit. There is never any obligation, expectation or pressure to continue sessions if you are not comfortable or don't feel we align.

I am committed to making therapy more accessible for minority communities and I work with cultural awareness and sensitivity at the heart of my practice.

I strive to create an environment where you can explore, heal and reconnect with yourself, without fear of judgement or critique. As my client, you will remain at the centre of our work together. Whether you’re navigating everyday worries, relationship difficulties or deeper distress and trauma, I will walk alongside you with care and curiosity.

I am available for in-person sessions in Leeds City Centre, or via online or telephone sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • PGDiploma Counselling & Psychotherapy
  • MSc Child Development
  • BSc Psychology
  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills

Alongside my formal qualifications and education, I also have several years’ experience working with secondary-age young people as a mentor, pastoral carer and behaviour support worker. Alongside my therapy work, I currently support child victims of exploitation and trafficking. These roles have shaped my trauma‑informed, compassionate approach and gives me an appreciation for how early experiences can impact emotional wellbeing.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
