About me

I believe people respond best when they feel seen, heard and understood. My therapeutic approach is integrative (which is therapist speak for a bit of this and a bit of that - depending on what is likely to be useful for what is being discussed) but the client (you) is always the best expert on themselves. I don’t assume there is a right way for a person to "Do Therapy" and adapt my approach to the needs and goals of each person I work with - but always working with curiosity, care and integrity.

Whether you're anxious,  burnt out or stressed, experiencing bereavement or loss or just need someone neutral and kind to talk to about what is happening for you, you will be offered acceptance exactly as you are with me.

I understand the importance of affirming spaces where identity is able to be explored but is always respected and celebrated. I also know the pressures of navigating demanding workspaces and workloads. I have an interest in working with those who are exploring their identity, are neurodivergent, experiencing workplace stress, anxiety or low self esteem.

I believe therapy can be transformative. Not in the sense of forcing change, but by creating a space where people can connect to themselves. Which might begin quietly in moments of insight, having the courage to speak a truth aloud or in being met with genuine empathy. These moments can accommodate profound shifts in how we relate to ourselves and others.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
