About me
Hi there,
Scrolling through profiles can feel quite overwhelming, can’t it? You’re probably just looking for someone local, with a warm, friendly approach who can offer you the right support you need.
A little bit about me:
My name is Gemma and I’m a qualified integrative therapist. In simple terms, this means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to support you in the best way possible. I am a compassionate and dedicated counsellor, with experience in helping clients navigate challenging issues such as relationship difficulties, anxiety, grief and depression.
How I can help
My approach is gentle and centred on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, supported, and understood.
I know that starting therapy can feel intimidating, but it is also a courageous step towards healing. It is your space to share and I offer time to listen and truly understand where you are in the moment.
Sessions
I offer both short and long-term counselling, tailored to your needs. Typically, sessions are held weekly, but we can arrange a schedule that works best for you. Our work together will be grounded in trust, creating a safe space for you to explore the challenges you’ve been facing.
Location
Located in the heart of Eccleston Park, my practice is in a serene and calming hub. Surrounded by a peaceful garden, it offers a tranquil space for reflection and personal growth. The private garden provides a quiet, distraction-free environment where you can unwind and focus on your well-being.
Free Consultation
If you would to chat about how we can work together I offer a free consultation which is more of an informal chat to see if we are a good fit. I am here to help you in taking that first step towards the support you deserve.
Working with Adults
I work with adults to help navigate a wide range of challenges, whether it’s managing stress, improving relationships, or addressing mental health concerns like anxiety and depression. My approach is compassionate and focused on creating a safe, trusting environment where you can explore and work through your difficulties at your own pace. Together, we can develop strategies to bring about positive change and help you feel more in control of your life.
Working with (16+)
I also work with young adults aged 16+, providing a supportive, non-judgmental space where they can express their thoughts and feelings. I understand the unique pressures young people face, whether it’s exam stress, peer relationships, or building self-esteem. My goal is to help them develop resilience, cope with challenges, and feel empowered to navigate their emotions in a healthy way.

Training, qualifications & experience
I have a solid understanding in counselling, having completed a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and a FdSc in Integrative Counselling, which have provided me with in-depth knowledge and practical experiences.
Alongside my private counselling practice, I have many years of experience teaching counselling students. In my role as a counselling lecturer and subject leader, I design and deliver courses, mentor students, and ensure they receive high-quality education and support throughout their studies. My teaching experience, combined with my counselling practice, allows me to offer students a blend of theoretical understanding and practical application.
Additionally, I have spent over 16 years teaching young people (16-18), which has provided me with valuable experience working with teenagers. This experience has enhanced my ability to support students through the unique challenges they face during their formative years, both in educational settings and in counselling practice. Working with young people has further deepened my understanding of developmental needs and the importance of offering tailored, empathetic support.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
