About me

You may be here because you’re under pressure to juggle a lot and have it all together, which leaves you feeling stressed, emotionally overwhelmed, and rarely able to focus on yourself.

Or perhaps you are tired of doubting yourself, working hard to avoid making mistakes and seeking other people’s approval, saying ‘yes’ when you mean ‘no’.

I know that this can be a frustrating place to be in, one where you never feel good enough, you are hard on yourself and where you feel like an impostor.

I am Geanina, I’m a qualified counsellor, and I would like to offer you a safe, non-judgmental space in which you can talk about your current challenges. I specialise in working with anxiety, self esteem, and relationship issues. My approach is gentle, and my clients have described me as warm, calm and insightful.

I work by being present for you, by engaging in natural conversation and by asking questions that will lead to insights. My goal is to establish a relationship with you and to be there for you in a way that makes you feel heard and empowered. Together we will explore the feelings you have at the moment, gain clarity on your struggles and understand where your unhelpful patterns come from.

Together we can work to help you:

Understand the deeper patterns behind stress, anxiety, and lack of confidence
Find calm, and reconnect with your emotions
Build confidence and stronger boundaries in relationships and at work
Be kind to yourself and learn to tame your inner critic
Reconnect with your motivation, creativity, and your authentic self

I have experience, but I don’t work exclusively with: anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma, chronic illness, shame and social anxiety.

I work Monday to Friday at my therapy room in Winchester, and in Southampton, as well as online.

Please get in touch to arrange a free introductory call.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training is in Psychosynthesis psychology, which is a gentle yet powerful approach to personal growth and healing. It looks at you as a whole person — not just your difficulties, but also your strengths, values, and unique potential. In our work together, we would explore both your past experiences and your present challenges, but also focus on who you are becoming and the life you want to create.

Before training as a therapist, I worked in broadcasting and as a translator. I also have experience as a career coach, having trained in that area as well — something that can be helpful if you’re navigating work-related challenges.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

We will start with a free 15 minute call where we will explore what brings you to therapy as well as what you hope to get from our work together. At this point, you may choose to book further sessions, but there is no pressure for you to do so.

Once we decide to work together, our first full session will be 50 minutes long. In this session, I will ask you more in depth questions about yourself and about your history that might be relevant to your current challenges.
