About me

Are you tired of feeling not good enough? Or maybe you’re finding yourself unable to cope with your anxiety or your depression. I’m Geanina, I’m a qualified counsellor and I would like to support you grow beyond your current difficulties.

When you’re feeling sad, lonely or simply stuck in sabotaging ways of being, having someone who supports you in a non-judgemental way can bring great relief and hope.

I will offer you a warm and safe space in which you can explore your current challenges. My approach is gentle, caring and sensitive to your needs. I will walk alongside you and support you in gaining insights on yourself, on your feelings and on your patterns of behaviour. Together we will look at how your past may be getting in the way of your mental well-being and growth in the present. With increased awareness, shifts will begin to happen within you that will have a positive impact on your life outside of therapy. Some therapy outcomes can be: increased clarity, confidence, self-acceptance and overall a feeling of empowerment to make changes in your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training is in Psychosynthesis which is a psychology of hope that believes that we can use our struggles in life as stepping stones towards growth, creativity and a more authentic connection with our purpose. It believes that in order to heal we need to bring awareness not only to our wounds from the past, but also to what calls us forward in life — our desire for meaning.

I have experience working with: anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma, chronic illness, shame and social anxiety.

I also have experience as a career coach.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

We will start with a free 15 minute call where we will explore what brings you to therapy as well as what you hope to get from our work together. At this point, you may choose to book further sessions, but there is no pressure for you to do so. I believe it’s very important that you work with a therapist that you feel comfortable with and I encourage you to speak to a few practitioners before you decide.

Once we decide to work together, our first full session will be 50 minutes long. In this session, I will ask you more in depth questions about yourself and about your history that might be relevant to your current challenges.
