About me
People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons. You might be struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, relationships, grief, addiction, or simply feeling that something isn’t quite right and not knowing where to start.
You don’t need to have the right words, know exactly what the problem is, or understand counselling before getting in touch.
My approach is straightforward. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what is going on without being told what you should think, feel or do. We can take the time to understand what is happening, what may be contributing to it, and what might help.
I work integratively, which means I can draw on different counselling approaches depending on the person sitting in front of me, rather than expecting everyone to fit one particular way of working.

Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am an Accredited Registrant Member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

My counselling experience includes more than 100 hours of supervised client work with Dunlewey Addiction Services in Belfast, supporting both people experiencing problems with addiction and family members or others affected by someone else’s substance use.
My wider professional experience includes more than seven years working within education and Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs.
My core training is Person-Centred, alongside Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic approaches. This allows me to adapt the way I work to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
I also undertake ongoing professional development, regular clinical supervision and work within the NCPS ethical framework.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Individual counselling sessions are £50 for 50 minutes.
An initial 30-minute consultation is available for £25.
Payment is made securely in advance of the appointment.

I offer an initial 30-minute consultation before beginning counselling. This gives us a chance to talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you are looking for, and whether working together feels right for you.
