About me

Hello

Thank you for stopping at my profile, I appreciate looking for a therapist/counsellor can be a minefield!

My name is Francesca and I am an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I specialise in bereavement & grief and low self-esteem. However, I work with several other issues including: anxiety, depression, stress (including work related stress), family issues, relationship issues, addictions, etc. People come to therapy for all sort of reasons and are often feeling overwhelmed, stuck or lost. Whatever you are facing…you are not alone. I offer a therapeutic relationship built on trust, where you can explore whatever’s going on for you at your own pace.

My approach is simple, I don’t like to overcomplicate things, life is complicated enough! I work in a down-to-earth and relational way, which means I show up as myself – not as an expert who has all of the answers, just another human being who will work alongside you. Together, we will explore patterns, behaviours and beliefs, and challenge what no longer serves you. My aim is to enable you to move forward creating a life that you deserve and almost become your “own” counsellor, so you will feel confident knowing you have the resources within you to get you back on track and navigate your way through the ups and down of life.  I make sure that my approach is tailored to each individual and their individual needs. I believe therapy should feel like it is made for you, not the other way round. You will find me kind, honest, authentic and above all, non-judgemental.

I offer online counselling via zoom, google meet, teams or telephone. I have found that many clients prefer on line, as with today’s technology it works well and there is no stress in finding offices, travel, parking, etc. This can often be a more relaxing way to have sessions for the client.

The therapeutic relationship is critical to successful therapy. Therefor I encourage a free 20 minute chat, either online or on the telephone. This gives you, the client, a good idea to see if you feel comfortable with me and if we feel we could work together. After our initial chat, there is no pressure whatsoever to commit to therapy. In fact, I would recommend that you speak to a few therapists before making a decision.

I do hope to hear from you and sending all good wishes.

Francesca

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice (Prof.Dip PSY C.)
  • Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory (Dip CST)
  • Certificate in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills (Cert Hyp CS)

I  work with clients on various issues. However, a couple of areas of particular expertise are Grief and Bereavement and Low Self-Esteem. I am passionate about helping clients who are experiencing loss and work with them to process their loss so they can start "living" again.

On a personal level, I know how low self-esteem can literally suffocate you and hold you back from living a life that you truly deserve. I have worked with clients who literally gain a freedom and new perspective on life once they get to understand and realise their "value" in this world.

Additional information

Each session runs for approximately 50 minutes.

Before booking sessions I offer a free 15 minute telephone call or on line meeting to see if I can help you and for you, the client, to feel comfortable working with myself. The client/counsellor relationship is vital to good therapy.

After this initial session, there is no pressure whatsoever to commit to sessions. The sessions are all about YOU, the client. It must feel the right match for you to progress.

Further information

At present I tend to work online. This work well and means I can work with clients throughout the UK. There is no time spent travelling, parking, etc. Also, online work is good for those feeling anxious, sad, depressed, etc. as you can remain in the comfort of your own home.

I mainly work in a person centred way which means I believe that the person who know you best is YOU and I will work together with you in a safe, non judgemental manner. We would work together for me to understand your specific situation and needs. My role is not to "mend" you, as your are not broken. It is to work with you to find solutions to work towards a more positive future.
