I am a dedicated psychologist committed to helping individuals, couples, and families overcome emotional challenges and reach their personal goals. With over 8 years of experience both in the NHS and private sector, I offer a compassionate, safe space where healing and growth are nurtured through trust and empathy. My work focuses on addressing issues like anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, and self-esteem, equipping clients with tools to build resilience and create lasting change. I will guide you through your difficulties, helping you break free from feeling stuck and start living the life you deserve.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Chartered HCPC Senior Counselling Psychologist, I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy. I use an integrative therapy approach drawing on a diverse range of evidence based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Third Wave approaches to CBT, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
I also use Schema therapy approach and principles and I draw on a Humanistic person- centred principles for the therapeutic relationship and as a foundation in therapy.
Additionally, I incorporate creative methods, including role-playing and guided reflections, allowing clients to explore unhelpful patterns and confront challenges in a supportive environment.
My sessions are tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs, fostering long-term growth, resilience, and well-being. We will discuss and review the length of therapy with clients will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. I will consider therapeutic methods that are proven to help you achieve your goals, find clarity, and take the first steps towards getting unstuck. I believe that clients’ feedback in therapy are essential in forming a trusting relationship and ensuring the effectiveness of therapy.
With a special focus on trauma work, I am also trained in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)— both of which are recommended by the NICE guidelines as the gold standard treatments for PTSD and complex PTSD.
In addition to my therapeutic practice, I offer professional supervision for trainee psychologists and early-career professionals. I am also involved in carrying out and participating in research projects to develop knowledge. My doctoral research was published on the Division of Counselling Psychology Review (DCoP) – Palmieri, F. (2018). My personal philosophy
I believe that clients have the capacity for self-awareness, growth, and change, provided they are willing and ready to work on themselves. This process is most effective when undertaken in collaboration with a psychologist who offers guidance and support.
Qualifications and Certifications
I am a registered psychologist with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) and a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
I am also a Member of the EMDR U.K. association, member of the Crisis, Disaster and Trauma psychology section of the BPS, member of the Division of Counselling Psychology (DCoP).
With advanced certifications in therapeutic modalities, I continuously enhance my skills through ongoing professional development, ensuring that I provide the highest quality of care to my clients.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

- If you’re interested in booking a free 20 minute consultation or a one-time 60 minute session, please contact me for availability
- For the 60-minute session, payment must be made via bank transfer in advance to confirm your appointment.
- Payment is required prior to each session. Alternatively, a standing order can be set up for a block of sessions.
- Therapy progress will be reviewed every 7 sessions to assess its effectiveness and adjust the approach if needed.
- Kindly note that a 48 hour notice is required for any cancellations or rescheduling; otherwise, the session fee will be non-refundable.
- The free 20-minute session and the 60-minute session are available as a one-time offer.
Therapy sessions can be offered in both English or Italian. - Additionally, therapy services may also be covered by insurance providers such as WPA.
