About me

I'm a specialist Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with a decade of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults their families and the systems around them. I support my clients by providing a space where they can feel heard and understood and if needed, I advocate for them.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm fascinated by how we can find our way back to equilibrium when our feelings and thoughts knocked us out of axis. I dedicate my work to soothing and healing the psyche of young people and their carers. My main aim in therapy is to create a safe environment where my clients feel accepted and understood. Open-mindedness, warmth and curiosity are vital tools I utilise to explore difficulties and strengths without fear of judgment.

My work is trauma-informed and I use creative interventions as well as techniques I've learnt from a diverse range of trainings, such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and Somatic Experiencing.

I am excited to integrate my love for the great outdoors into my clinical work. As an Ecotherapist, I find it important to focus on nature's forgotten importance in the development of adolescents.

I am a member of the UKCP and adhere to their ethical guidelines. I attend regular Continued Professional Development (CPD) events to maintain my skills and knowledge. I'm an EMDR UK Association accredited EMDR Therapist with specialist training to work with children and young people.

Qualifications: BA in Psychology, PGcert (Regent’s University), PGdip (Tavistock and Portman Clinic), MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (Terapia), PGCert in Ecotherapy (Confer), PgCert in EMDR Basic Training (EMDR UK), PgCert in EMDR with Children and Adolescents, (Lvl 1, Child Trauma Therapy Centre), PgCert in EFT (EFT MRA), PgDip in Creative Approaches to Supervision (Centre for Psychodrama), Specialist Child Psychotherapist Supervisor training (ongoing - Terapia).

Previous experiences: Private Practice, Lecturer at Roehampton University; Visiting Lecturer at Terapia. Primary & Secondary School Counsellor/Therapist; NSPCC ChildLine; Great Ormond Street Hospital Badger Buddy & Assistant at the Eating Disorders team; Trainee Therapist at a Leaving Care Unit; Play worker & Group facilitator at Solace Women's Aid; Contact Supervisor at Local Authority.

Difficulties are rarely isolated or fit into neat boxes. Underneath all of that is an individual, who is intrinsically linked with their environment, also often needing support. I provide a brave space, where they learn about themselves, using creativity, psychoeducation and where appropriate, a bit of humour: therapy can be hard, but it's also a place to soothe and re-member ourselves.
