About us

I offer a safe, supportive, private and confidential environment to explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions without fear of judgement. Learning coping strategies and gaining insights for effective navigation through life's challenges. My specialty areas are Grief & Bereavement, Anxiety, Stress, Relationships, Mental wellness, Life Coaching, Working with Men and Race and Racial Identity but is not limited to these.

Through talking and feeling heard the weight can feel lighter. It may not always give you the answers you are searching for, but it can help with gaining clarity and understanding around what you are feeling, thinking or struggling with. You will feel held throughout the process. I'm ready to listen, take the first step to better mental wellbeing and get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been working with clients for over two years both in an agency and private setting, helping adults to feel empowered and make sense of what they are struggling with. As a registered member of the BACP I work to their ethical code of practice and undertake CPD as a commitment to my profession and clients.

Training as an Integrative counsellor means I tailor my approach to your specific needs and circumstances. I can help you explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences with empathy, understanding and without judgement in a safe and confidential space, building a trusting relationship at you pace.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I use an Integrative approach which means I will draw upon a range of techniques including Person Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to tailor the best approach for your needs. In our first session together we will explore what brought you to counselling and decide the most appropriate way to help you make the changes you want and will periodically review this progress.

I mainly work with clients 16 years plus who may be struggling with a variety of issues and concerns ranging from general mental health and day to day life such as; race and racial identity, relationships, self esteem, abuse, reoccurring unhelpful thoughts, trauma, neuro diverse conditions, grief, finding purpose amongst a whole range of other areas. In the first session we delve into what the issues are and look into what you would like to explore further and create a plan together to work on these. Clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms over a course of sessions when they regularly attend.
