MBACP - Integrative counsellor

About me

Hi I'm Fiona a qualified and experienced counsellor working with adults and teenagers. Are you worried about your mental health, feeling anxious, stuck, depressed or facing a big change? Have you recently had an ADHD diagnosis or do you anticipate getting one?  Sometimes, life can feel overwhelming. Talking through your feelings and what is happening with me can be a helpful way to unpick what is going on. Together, we can explore what is happening and find ways to move forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

Training and experience

As a registered MBCAP counsellor I hold a professional diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling practice. I’ve dedicated many years to supporting teenagers, young adults, and adults through life’s challenges.

I have a wide range of experience with particular depth in areas such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, infertility, grief, abortion, and menopause, as well as dealing with complex family dynamics like family conflicts and the potential challenges of long-term relationships. For teens I have particular experience with low mood, ADHD, anxiety, family breakdown, school refusal, and conflict.

In addition to my counseling qualifications, I hold a BSc in Psychology, MSc (Health Psychology) & a PG Dip (Career counselling).

How I can help

Whether you’re feeling anxious, depressed, or navigating life's ups and downs, I’m here to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and understanding space to explore your feelings and work towards your goals.

Counselling isn't just for a crisis. It can also be useful when you are approaching a period of change like moving in together or starting out on a new career. It gives you the space to consider decisions and feelings from all angles.

What you can expect from me

I am a down-to-earth person who loves working with people. I know what it is like to contact a counsellor. I will make the sessions as accessible and useful as I can.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
