About me
Do you feel that life is a real struggle right now? Maybe you are worried about the smallest things and can’t relax, or feel like you just can’t get anything right? Perhaps you’re struggling to get to sleep each night, or waking in the early hours of the morning, your thoughts racing and heart pounding?
Is constant anxiety stopping you from enjoying activities and hobbies you used to love, or affecting your ability to focus at work? Are you avoiding social situations you used to enjoy, because they leave you feeling exhausted and overwhelmed?
How Counselling Can Help You
Counselling gives you the space and time to explore your worries and helps you to stop that critical nagging inner voice, the one that tells you that you’re failing. It can support you in prioritising your own self-care, so that you don’t burn out or find yourself spiralling with anxiety. Getting to the root cause of your worrying can help to reduce or stop it. This might be something that happened to you as a child or teen, or traumatic experiences you have had as an adult. Whatever the starting point, counselling can definitely help to reduce your anxiety.
My Own Experience
I've been there myself, and I understand how overwhelming life can feel at times. Therapy helped me to understand what was creating that anxiety, and working through all my ‘stuff’ with a good therapist made a huge difference to my life. I feel a real affinity with clients who are stressed and overwhelmed; if that’s you, I can help you feel less anxious and able to feel more settled in yourself.
I love supporting neurodivergent clients – I am late diagnosed with ADHD and regularly support clients in this situation. Like many women, my ADHD traits became almost unmanageable through the menopause. If you are hitting that stage in life where perimenopause has kicked in, and you are struggling, I can help you. This is a phase in life that can have a huge impact on your self-esteem, relationships and even your ability to function in the world. HRT can help with some of the physical symptoms, but talking therapies can help you find a new balance in your life.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am qualified at Diploma Level as a counsellor/ psychotherapist with Liverpool John Moores University.
My approach is person-centred, you are in control of the work at each stage, you won't be pushed into discussing traumatic memories and you decide what we focus on in each session. I have experience of supporting clients who have been in coercive controlling relationships, who had traumatic childhood experiences, or who struggle with difficult family relationships. I am experienced in working with adults who are ADHD, autistic or multiple neurodivergent needs.
In addition to my core training, I have trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), which uses ‘tapping’ to support clients with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, negative self-talk and phobias. This can provide quick relief from distressing symptoms in a short space of time, or allow you to work safely through traumatic memories without becoming overwhelmed.
I am also qualified to provide counselling via email - this is something that can help if you find it hard to sit in a room with a counsellor, need more time to process your thoughts, or struggle to find a regular time for sessions.
I take my own professional development seriously and am constantly extending my knowledge and experience.
