Fiona Fitzpatrick Art Therapist and EMDR Therapist
My name is Fiona Fitzpatrick and I am a registered Art Psychotherapist and EMDR Therapist working with children, young people and adults.
I am passionate about how the creative process can heal and change a person, helping to understand ourselves and our circumstances & behaviour and with this awareness find acceptance and heal from suffering. You do not have to have any experience of art or any art skills to benefit from this therapy . I have 6 years experience of working with adopted children, children in school with emotional, behavioural and mental health issues and adults in the community as 1:1 therapy and group work. Themes that Art Therapy can help are low self esteem, anxiety, depression, bereavement , loss , trauma to name a few.
as a trauma focused therpaist I am trained in EMDR therapy which can help process traumatic events such as a single incident car accident or abuse over several years . EMDR can assist with PTSD and phobias.
I am trained in CATT - children’s accelerated trauma treatment and EMDR. I use both CATT and EMDR when appropriate alongside my Art Therapy practise.
The relationship with the therapist is the most important aspect of healing from trauma or any difficult situation and therefore I offer a free consultation where you can meet me and ask questions and decide if this is the right therapy for you . Please call or email to book a free slot.
I am honoured to do the work I do and hear people’s stories and witness the bravery and strength that we show in adversity and this journey of life.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and your interest in Arts Psychotherapies UK
