About me

Warm, collaborative and relational - I offer mindfulness-based therapy for clients looking for grounded support. I especially welcome anxiety and depression, as well as other issues, and offer an initial session for a reduced fee.

A mindfulness-based approach is spacious, free of judgement, and invites you to bring attention to the parts of yourself that have tended to be hidden or neglected. Whatever is happening for you - or has happened to you - can be explored at a pace feels safe but insightful, avoiding overwhelm and building a strong sense of inner resource. This is a trauma-informed approach that acknowledges the importance of pace and resource.

I am always curious to hear about your experience of being in the world - what it's like to be you. I see how healing this can be for clients, to have a space where it is allowed and encouraged to freely explore the whole of their experience. Therapy offers the possibility of seeing, feeling and connecting the many different parts of ourselves that have become scattered or lost to us. In reconnecting within ourselves, we naturally find more connection outside of ourselves, enriching our lives and expanding our feeling of wellbeing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a UKCP accredited psychotherapist with an MA in Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapeutic Practice from the Karuna Institute (Middlesex University). I work in private practice and at a small charity.

A mindfulness-based approach is informed by Buddhist principles - the power of attention, intrinsic goodness (Buddha nature), interdependence, and impermanence, among others - and I have been a Buddhist practitioner for over 30 years.

In my therapy practice, I have seen that as we pay attention together to arising experience, seemingly intractable patterns and beliefs can be loosened and released, bringing insight, relief and confidence.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
